Small Projects began as a nomadic artist initiative in Manila in 2001. Since then it hosted and organized exhibitions and performances internationally. It promotes works and projects which challenges boundaries and promote critical discussion, and provide space for emerging and mid-career artists.

Small Projects collaborate with other artist -run initiatives internationally and promote artist and knowledge exchange. To date, Small Projects is in partnership with at least 5 international organisations.

Small Projects is supported by the Norwegian Arts Council and the City of Tromsø, and several of its projects has been supported by the Office for Contemporary Art Norway ( OCA ), and the Norwegian Embassy.
